What to Expect on Your First Visit
Your first visit to MU Scalp is designed to be thorough, unhurried, and pressure-free. Here's what happens when you walk through our doors:
Welcome & Registration
You'll be greeted by our team and asked to fill in a brief health questionnaire covering your medical history, lifestyle, stress levels, and hair concerns. This helps us understand your full picture before the consultation begins.
Consultation with Our Team
We sit down and listen. Your therapist will discuss your concerns, timeline of hair changes, previous treatments you've tried, family history, and what you're hoping to achieve. No rush, no sales pitch.
Scalp Analysis
Using professional scalp analysis tools, we examine your scalp condition, hair density, follicle health, and any visible changes. This typically takes 30–45 minutes.
Diagnosis & Explanation
We explain exactly what we've found — in plain language, not medical jargon. You'll understand the type of hair loss, its likely cause, and what the options are.
Treatment Recommendation
If treatment is needed, we present a personalized plan with clear expectations, timeline, and costs. There's no obligation to proceed — and we never push treatments you don't need.
Before your visit: Come with clean, dry hair if possible — avoid applying styling products on the day of your appointment. Bring a list of any medications or supplements you're currently taking. Allow approximately 60–90 minutes for your first consultation.
Getting to MU Scalp
MU Scalp is located on the 1st floor of Kolam Centre Phase 1, directly along Jalan Lintas — the main road connecting central Kota Kinabalu to the northern suburbs of Inanam and Menggatal. Whether you're coming from KK city centre, Penampang, Likas, or Luyang, Jalan Lintas is one of the most direct routes.
From KK city centre: Head north on Jalan Lintas. After passing Lintas Square on your right, Kolam Centre Phase 1 will be on your left. The drive takes about 10–15 minutes depending on traffic.
From Penampang / Kepayan: Take Jalan Penampang to Jalan Lintas, then head north. Kolam Centre is approximately 10 minutes from the Penampang roundabout.
Nearby landmarks: We're next to Kolam Centre Phase 2, across from the Petronas station on Jalan Lintas, and a short walk from Lintas Square shopping area. Look for the Kolam Centre Phase 1 signage — we're on the first floor.
Parking
Open-air parking is available directly at Kolam Centre Phase 1. Additional overflow parking is available at the adjacent Phase 2 lot. Parking is typically easy to find during weekday business hours.

Hair Loss Treatment for Kota Kinabalu & Sabah
While our centre is based in Kota Kinabalu, we regularly treat clients from across Sabah. Many of our patients travel from Penampang, Putatan, Inanam, Menggatal, and Likas — all within a 15–20 minute drive of our centre. We also see clients from further out, including Tuaran, Papar, and even Sandakan, who visit for initial consultations and periodic follow-up treatments.
If you're travelling from outside KK, we recommend booking your first consultation in advance via WhatsApp so we can allocate enough time for a thorough assessment. For ongoing treatments, we'll work with you to create a schedule that minimises the number of trips needed.
