With over 20 years of experience in dermatology and aesthetic medicine, Dr. Lu founded MU Scalp to bring science-backed hair loss treatment to Sabah — because hair health deserves the same medical rigour as skin health.
The Journey
Dr. Lu began her medical career as an Internal Medicine physician at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kota Kinabalu — Sabah's largest government hospital. It was there that she developed a deep understanding of how systemic health conditions affect the entire body, including the hair and scalp.
She went on to specialize in dermatology and aesthetic medicine, eventually founding ME Clinic Kota Kinabalu — which has been Sabah's trusted centre for skin health for over two decades.
Over the years, Dr. Lu noticed a growing number of patients seeking help with hair loss — a problem that wasn't being addressed properly by salons, generic products, or one-size-fits-all treatments. She created MU Scalp as a dedicated centre focused entirely on medically-guided hair and scalp treatment.
